Retired players' stats and history are being wiped

Hi,

I am experiencing a bug where multiple players' career statistics and historical data are disappearing after they retire. This seems to be the same issue mentioned in this thread: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=368822

I have attached two screenshots as evidence:

1. Bryce Harper's Profile :

After retiring in 2035, Harper's career stats have been completely wiped. All categories show as 0 or .000. He no longer appears in the standard search and can only be accessed through the League Events log.

2. League Awards/History :

This issue is affecting multiple players, not just Harper. In the past award winners list, you can see that players like Paul Goldschmidt, Sandy Alcantara, and Edwin Diaz are missing their team affiliations—shown as —and their stats are also wiped. Other players on the same list remain unaffected.()

As a result, these players have disappeared from team history, career leaderboards, and past starting lineups. Their data has essentially vanished from the game world.

Thanks.

This is a setting.

You can choose to keep stats for retired players or not.

You can also choose to keep the full player records or have them overwritten by new player records.

Although, I see some weirdness with the city and school etc on your screenshot, so I do wonder if there's a problem with OOTP not being able to write to your hard drive in some places where it needs to?

You might want to try reinstalling on another drive, or on the same drive in a different location. Possibly move the saves folder as well, because you might be lacking the proper permissions in your current save location.

You should also probably make sure to whitelist OOTP in any anti-virus or anti-malware programs you're running to make sure these are not somehow corrupting your data.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Its not a setting related issue on my end. It seems to happen to players several years after they retire. All their histories are wiped, including on the MLB career leaderboards.

I will try installing to a new drive as suggested, however it sounds like a lot of people are having this issue.

Sooo uhh, twice now, I've had retired MLB players just disappear. First Nolan Arenado in one save, and then now, Tarik Skubal. Can't figure out why.

Like, doesn't come up from searches and not in the history index at all.

Not in my GM decision history for one of my better signings (the latter)

just... gone

Just to add to this:

I then went to the history index and at least see this:

But his stats? Gone. You can see Aaron Judge next to him has zero stats too.

Please point this out in a screenshot and walk us through it because this is clearly not a one-user issue. No reason why it should be doing this by default, as it seems, or randomly on its own.

I have no shortage of space on my disk drive.

A couple things that could have happened
-There was a bug in the previous builds that after the WBC, some players could have gotten deleted accidentally. If you're on the version we released Friday, those shouldn't happen anymore.
-Another possibility is that your MLB league got switched to like a College or High School league. We have seen that happen accidentally in the past for people, and there is some cleanup done that players who never made it out of college/HS get deleted once they retire.

I am having this problem in OOTP27 - Mordecai Brown's League Statistics and History are blank. I will look for others. They are in the almanac of his last season's played - any way to import it all back???

Not a setting - it seems like ever time I go from 1871 to later years a few players, Mordecai Brown comes to mind, always lose their league stats and history - noticed this in OOTP24, 25, 26 and now 27 - I will try to research others with this problem....
