How to edit your own contract?

I could have swore it was possible to edit the length of your own contract if you played in manager-only mode, for example, yet I am coming up with nothing. It has been a couple of years since I've played.

And how to view .dat files now? Anyone know what I can use to read them? Notepad and it's like aren't working for OOTP.

If you are in commissioner mode, go to Front Office tab under your team, on the far right on the line below that is Edit Finances. Go down a little in the left column and you can edit.
