Purchasing a minor league contract

So my settings are changed to ’Allow the purchase of contracts of players on teams not affiliated with Major League Teams’. Now, how do I go about purchasing these contracts? I only see trade options, but trading for these players is not allowed.

What's your league setup look like?

For example, in my league, based on reality, I have the MB/associated minors, and then AA, Pioneer, Frontier, and Atlantic. Those last four aren't affiliated so you couldn't trade, but usually would be able to purchase their players for a fee when you open a dropdown menu for them

Explain this a little more. How are you opening a dropdown window. For me, if I go to the transaction page, I can make a cash offer for minor league players, but not if they are on a team not affiliated with a Major League club. The cash line is not visible when dealing with non-affiliated teams

My league is the 1973 season with trades allowed. It appears to be full minor leagues. There are 5 teams in the minors not affiliated with a Major League team

This would be how you would do it, if able, and your settings as described seem like you're able

The only thing that may be affecting it is that you mentioned youre playing a historical season, which is not my main area of expertise

Make sure the league you're trying to buy from also allows players to be bought, it would be in its own league settings page.

I will double check, but if I can make a cash offer in the trade window on a player from a team in the same league and has a MLB affiliation, then I should be able to with all teams. I appreciate your input on this!!! I will check this evening.

I just looked at this again, and have never seen those options in that drop-down. I will look closer at all of my settings again. I just can’t seem to find any settings in the minor league rules and settings, but the major league is set to allow the purchase of these types of players

This is the only option I could find . Not sure about the last line in RED.I don't know what rules from the parent league it is talking about. But I don't see the options like shown by JORDAN above. Can anyone explain this?

Maybe I found the answer. Learning more about this game all the time. So, I don't think I can purchase a contract due to the time of the season. I'm in my last month of the regular season. BUT.... wouldn't the drop down menu showing in Jordan's post show the PURCHASE option, but have it grayed out? It does not show in mine at all.
