Game keeps getting corrupted for no reason

I'm not sure why this keeps happening but exactly every 2 days after I create a game I can play it and load it and close it and do everything normally but every single time after 2 days it randomly gets corrupted for seemingly no reason as I am not even doing anything I wouldn't normally do. I been obsessively backing up the game too but when I go to load the backup it keeps telling me I need to enter a folder name even after I hit load backup. When I open the folder there's also a file added to the game files and all titled "incident" and appears to always be created at the exact second timestamp that the corruption occurs so I'm not sure what's going on but it's getting on my nerves a lot.

Well I looked a bit more into how to load the backups and auto saves and tried to load them from both doing exactly what it told me to and it still says the files are corrupted so is the backup/new copies/auto save just copying corrupted files or something? It says successfully loaded from auto save but it just doesn't change anything. I am not sure how the backup would be corrupted though if it is but it doesn't work at all.

It's possible both are corrupt

Sometimes the issue can just be something like the faces.dat file being corrupt and if you replace that with a new one, can continue (just with some faces changing). That's worth a try.

More generally here are some tips on why this can happen and how to prevent it from happening again.

Some random corruption can happen from time to time for numerous reasons that are not caused by the game itself.

If you're having league files regularly corrupting though, there may be another issue that's causing that though that it would be worth checking out.

There are a few things that can cause corruption. This potentially includes unexpected system shutdowns or crashes especially while a league is saving, bad sectors on the hard drive the game is saved to, memory glitches on your computer (especially possible if the league is left open for very long periods of time without the game being shut down or restarted) or interference from other programs, especially disk cleaners or anti-virus programs.

Some of what you might do to prevent that from coming up again would be to regularly defrag your hard drive as well as check it for errors, don't leave OOTP open and running with a league loaded overnight or for long periods when you are not actually using the game, make sure to shut your computer off or at least restart it occasionally and also run as few other programs in the background at the same time as OOTP as possible.

For programs that need to be running at the same time, like an anti-virus or firewall, it's a good idea to add OOTP to their whitelist and to create an exception for OOTP's directories if you use some sort of automated disk cleaner.

Also, OneDrive, iCloud and other similar cloud programs can corrupt the .dat files if you're saving directly to those, so it's not recommended to do so.
