High disk usage by Windows Search Indexer while running OOTP

I've been having this issue for a while now and don't remember when or in what version of the game it started. After running OOTP for a while, I will notice that both OOTP and other apps begin slow down or lock up. If I bring up task manager, I can see that the Windows Search Indexer has started to use the entire read/write capacity of my SSD. The computer continues to be slow or non responsive for several minutes, until the disk usage suddenly returns to normal. This seems to be related to OOTP somehow because it only happens while playing it.
