flaw with baserunning that never used to be
Like I posted before ALOT less options for controlling throwing and running the bases. WAY too many trailing runners on 1st goes to 2nd w/o an option of me throwing to second. Lots of trailing runners getting thrown out 2 I see than before. I want to have much more control over my outfielders throwing options quess what Im trying to say

Have also seen this, and agree that it appears to be a problem. It is particularly vexing to see a throw go home when the runner would be an easy out at 2B. MLB players would not routinely make that mistake.

Baserunning continues to fluster me.
Franchise started in 2025. I am in the 2031 season as the St. Louis Cardinals. Usually play a weeks' worth of games a day. As I have it set up, I should be involved in most major base-running decisions. In the last week of games. three times I had a runner on second with two outs. The runners on second base running ratings were above average while the center fielder was just medium. Yes, I know the graphics on the screen mean nothing. But all three times, I hit singles to center fielder and the runner stopped at third. With two outs, I probably would have sent him. The next batter was retired leaving me with no runs for the inning. I also had at least two occasions, where a batter was thrown out at second trying to stretch a single. Why wasn't I given an option on either occasion to send the runner home or hold the batter who had singled at first. It may have cost me a chance to win a game, if not two. |

I would hope the OOTP27 version would include an upgrade to the 3D game run. We have gotten so far with the 3D game that it makes sense to add more decision game play for running.

Not to belabor the point, but I would like to see some attention to "harmonizing" the play-by-play narrative with the 3D depiction of the play. Too many times a "long fly" is caught by an outfielder visibly running in, or staying put. Too many inconsistencies between the play description and what the screen shows in 3D. From a tactical standpoint, I have learned to disregard the visual and make coaching decisions based on the narrative. But it's distracting and confusing when the two are out of sync.
I'm not a big 3D or visual guy - that's not why I play the game - but the other vexing thing is to see an outfielder field a hit and then pause, as if he has no idea where to throw the ball. MLB outfielders would field and throw in one motion on any close play. The timing on these visuals is just way off. For me, that detracts from enjoying the visuals.
