Team Focus?

Ever wondered how the "Team Focus" is set? Neutral, Win Now! Rebuilding, and Build a Dynasty. Just text or does it change how a team GM operates?

You can change it in Commissioner mode, but does it change or does it just return to what the owner decides?

Sometimes I will manually adjust the team focuses leaguewide, as it's pretty quick and easy to do and it feels like the game isn't aggressive enough to change these depending on how the current season is going. It feels like there are generally too many "Win now"s and not enough "Rebuilding"s. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, teams who are out of the race in July should be selling.

good question.
but as an aside thanks to you for pointing this out. i hadn't considered to edit these, but like Lloydlungs consider that there should be a little more pragmatism from the AI GMs about their team's likely prospects and more choosing rebuild or neutral

I wish as a GM you could set it with maybe an overbearing owner reaching in the change it from time to time. I don't like how it's implemented now, it doesn't catch the beat of what my organization is doing. I'll come out of a rebuild with a stacked farm system and finally start winning again and the owner will change it to 'Win Now!' and I'm like bro we will win now and for the next 4-6 seasons as well (club control). Win Now! is still almost a decade off...

agree, i think the intent of what it's trying to replicate is great, but the execution is short of the mark. Hopefully some more thought is applied to improving this aspect going forward.

My next question is about "how is the Expectation" is set? Is this an AI owner-controlled goal, and does it have any influence on your ability to develop players, budgets......Does not look like you can edit this goal, it just appears....

If I have a great team, I want to have a priority of Extreme Winning, Team Focus of Win Now! and an Expectation of Win the Championship!
