I've been playing this game for years and cant figure out how to scout college players. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Are you talking about scouting them when you're playing as a College team? or talking from the NHL team perspective?

Either way, the methodology remains similar - if there is a particular player you want to improve your scouting on then you can right click him and from the action menu choose 'Add to Watchlist' - then head to the 'Scouting' tab and check under the 'Priorities' tab and it will present you with a sub menu where you can re arrange the order of priorities for your scouting - you watchlist is usually listed at the top of the priorities meaning that these players will be scouted first.

However, if you're playing as a college team then you should also get people in college scouted because of the 'Own League' section in the priorities tab.

Also - don't forget to make sure that you have good scouts hired in areas that you want covered, I think the map changes to blue when you have good coverage in that region and lastly don't forget to add the boost to scouting from the 'Monthly Finances' choice on the 1st of each month by default (with nothing allocated) your scouting gets a -2 hit from the default (15) and with the max bonus it will get a +5 up to it's full capacity of 20.

awesome advise. i am talking about leading an NHL team. i will say that the scouting map is blue for all regions. i haven't been adjusting the scouting budget so I'll try that. Thanks for the advice!

No problem! Best way to get an individual player scouted is to add them to the watchlist - then you should notice improvement in a month or so.

Just to add to the excellent advice already posted, I'm not entirely sure if adding to your scouting budget when it's already blue will make a difference as it's already at the highest level. I could be wrong though!
