Having trouble creating a new historical game

OK so I'm wanting to start a new game, starting in 1998. I just left all the default setting the way they are, name my save and hit OK.

Thats as far as I get. My game freezes/stops responding once the loading gets to "Team History" 99%

Is this a glitch that still needs to be worked out, or am I not doing something right?

When you get to the 90s, it can take a while for it to load. Your system will incorrectly say it's frozen when it's not. Wait and it should go.
