Import/Export?

I exported hundreds of free agents and put them in a text file then restarted my game and tried to import them into the new game using the file and it says import succeeded but they don't appear. Can someone tell me if I did something wrong? I just exported them by hitting 'export free agents' in the old game.

My first guess would be in the new league, the player IDs from the old league don't exist.
