My longest Game
I know the MLB record is 26 innings, so I've beaten that. I saw a 29 inning game on Reddit, but couldn't come up with a good search term for these boards.
I played a 28 inning game with my 1985 (started in '82) Cardinals. 8 hours and 13 minutes 196 at bats I stole 7 bases - caught off 4 times No runs scored between the 9th and the 27th I usually run a normal 10-man staff from the 80s, but have 11 because of Rule 5 selection Roger McDowell. I used 9 of the 11, including my next 2 starting pitchers in the rotation - Dave LaPoint and Joaquin Andujar. Following the game, to keep fresh arms on the staff, I optioned 3 relievers (who had options), and called up 2 relievers to have fresh arms in the pen, and then bounced 2 starters up and down over the next to 2 games to cover LaPoint and Andujar's starts. 19 shutout innings for the Pirates bullpen - 20 for my bullpen. The logistical challenges games like these present are part of the fun. |

Pretty cool. I’ve had a few in the mid- high teens and that takes some roster juggling.

Going 1 for 13 in a game probably doesn't help your batting average.
