Drafted players aren't even ready for rookie ball
I have recently drafted players that are decent prospects (say 20/53) that are only a 35/80 OVR when ratings are set relative to the rookie leagues. I guess I have to trot them out there because there is no level lower but I feel like their development will be stunted due to being overmatched since the game manual mentions that players being overmatched can lead to stunted development.
Any ideas/thoughts to address this problem? |

"Ready" is relative to the competition. If you're drafting guys with a certain level of skill, so is everyone else so the guys other teams draft are playing against yours. If all of the players in the league are of a certain skill level you won't have to worry about guys not being "ready" for that level.

well there's 2 schools of thought now that we have a setting that directly influences how a player is ready. See this thread for context https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=363893
If you have the "Potential Influences MiL Performance" setting checked, it is default, then relative ratings don't really mean much at all because potential ratings are blended with current ratings to make a "performance rating". You can have two players both rated 35/80 relative to rookie, but the one with better potential is going to perform better. Perhaps his "performance rating" is average. I do wish they would rethink how they represent this because it's confusing. If you turn off the setting, then yeah low current ability players will struggle. sometimes they will overcome, sometimes they won't. Sink or swim, just like in real life.
