Do people actually spend that many PP on missions ….

When at a certain point it’s cheaper to just buy the card? Right now in my league it would cost like 600,000 points to finish the Griffey mission and the card is significantly less. I prefer to find things in packs too but that seems harder and harder every year. I just got my first 100 in a (non
Perfect) pack this week. Never took that long before.

That's the first step toward seeing the mission component cards drop in price, or at least that's what should happen. This year, I'm not so sure given some of the sticky prices on the Launch Deck missions. You can buy a Ryan Braun (if you actually want him) for less than the final mission card will cost you. Same with Brooks Robinson (although Lowrie has an alibi since he's now in another mission).

Answer to your question is: buy the topper outright for the lower price unless the component cards are part of another mission you're eyeing...or unless you're a completionist. You might have to purchase some of the component cards later if they pop up in another mission, but by then you should be able to complete the mission for a lot less and sell the duplicate topper.

I got everything done with Griffey except the last card. That last card is selling for 200k, 170k last 10, 140k highest buy order.

At this point, I think I'll just sit on my 103k buy order till it gets fulfilled, or maybe add 1k a day which I can earn easily enough.

It's painful, and my CFs are pretty bad in LD.

To Mal3607, is 103k wasteful? Well, it's my whole stash, so probably yes.

Junior is one of the players I admired in the 90's though, and for me, finishing missions is probably near the top of what I like about the game.

Call it luck, skill, both, I can't seem to win much, so I find finishing the missions to be one of my primary goals.

Part of the game, for me, is completing the missions. I find it oddly satisfying.

I am F2P so I don't have any grand delusions of competing in Perfect league (I have been hanging around in Low & High Diamond though), so the missions are part of the fun for me.

Agreed, for me, completing the missions is clear while the intricacies of the game are not clear at all.

Missions are one of my favorite parts.

With Griffey you also get future legend Andrew Painter so, for me anyway, I got two useable cards for the mission plus whatever packs.
