Help me create a league!

For many years, my favourite way to play the game is to start the league somewhere around 1970. I play with randomized players from all eras before and after that point. They come into the league through the draft each year and I play onwards several seasons.

I am trying to set that league up in OOTP 26, and league history (players from before that time period have played) is set from years prior to my start year. Also, players are randomized that come into the game but only players that debuted after the start date.

Can someone please point me in the right direction with how to set up a league in the most current game to match what I have played in the past?
