OOTP integration question

So, wondering about this. I decided to open up the black ball player floodgates earlier than 1947. So this player became one of the top paid players in the game overnight. Hasn't yet played a game anywhere, and immediately got on the Yankees rotation. Am just curious how that happened.

Now, looking at the potential ratings we might see why he garnered so much hoopla, and got signed for that amount (which, in my what-if league is as I said a top salary).

Here is where the questions begin. How does OOTP derive those ratings, much less the response from non-human GMs, from these RL stats?

Here's another case. Now, this guy signed for a more inline salary. And based on those ratings maybe the Browns got a good deal. One thing to note is he is almost a top-ten prospect. Again, those ratings seem to support that.

Until we look at his RL stats. Even after the move to MLB he basically is a 4A player.

Have just been looking for reasons why. If anyone can notice anything which might suggest. Trends? Similarities? Anyone noticing any performance metrix I'm not getting? I just can't figure it out.

Looking at these two players, is there like a trend anyone has noticed, as to why these players seem to be just extravegantly overrated? Can't quite put my finger on it.

I had Connie Johnson in a save. Over performed his ratings to win the Cy one of year.

So here's another I found. Green ratings indicate MLB potential. Then I look at RL stats and I dunno, just not seeing any potential correlation.

Now again, solid greens all the way across strongly suggest ML potential.

I think OOTP has major league equivalencies wrong and Garlon and Co may have a better version. Clearly OOTP has major league equivalencies wrong in my save where over 30% of the pitchers in MLB were career minor leaguers.

The list here are the NeL players with MLE's.

Fields and Connie J are in there but the others are not. The mod used the MLE stat lines inserted into the MLB csv files so the game treated the stat lines as if the were AL/NL lines. The mod worked perfectly as intended. It was an entirely separate historical.database.odb file in a folder called /statsNeL so as to not impact any other save using the with-game odb in the /stats folder. It was also transparent as one could see the stats building the ratings by going to the Real Stats tab and seeing the MLE values. One thing about the mod, however, was that it was not compatible with Real Minors on.

OOTP utilizes the same MLE values but elected to incorporate the stats very differently than the mod did. It treats the MLE stat lines as alternative stats to build the ratings off of (think like neutralized stats). That way, it could be used with Real Minors on BUT unlike tricking the game to use the MLE lines precisely like AL/NL stats, it relies on a lot of programming and testing and learning.

It looks like this will be something they will learn from. For the record, the MLEs for Fields and Connie J in 1941 were not OP. Connie J went 1-0 in 10 IP and Fields in the 1941 MLEs went 2-2 in 40 IP. I note '41 was the rookie year for both so maybe that can help them track the issue down.

I think there's something to be said about MiL also, but I've never had a MiL with such a swing between RL and OOTP projected potential. Not to mention have the game mechanism have such strong preference. BUT, thanks because I didn't know about the mod, just assumed OOTP had it covered.

Am sure others will appreciate this though I have no idea what you're talking about ! But it sounds like I need to download the mod from Steam? I bought direct from this website.
