Is trading broken?

Is the trading system broken in this years model? I'll go to shop a player and find a potential trading player with a rating of 50+ potential. I'll look around a bit more and find that when I go back to that trade, that player is now in the 40's potential. I haven't been jumping between scouts either, but find that the ratings just suddenly change.

If I try to trade for that exact same suggested player, by going to the "make a trade" tab, I will find that the team is not even featured amongst the teams from which to approach in the drop down tab.

Please post some screenshots. And all teams should show up in the drop down tab. What is your leave setup. Are you trying to make trades with other leagues (AAA) or Korean teams?

Sadly, I didn't think to grab any screenshots as this was occurring but will try to if it keeps happening. For reference, I am only trading players amongst MLB and MiLB teams.

In my recent example using Shop a Player, when selecting one of several players who had been offered by KC, (even though in the evolution of my league they had relocated to San Antonio several years prior), had his potential suddenly change to a lower value, (by 10), after I had clicked Trade and then gone to the Propose Trade screen. This occurs for players from my team as well, on occasion, where they will jump up in Potential, (from a 40 to a 50 of 55), after they have been shopped.

I have never had this happen until recently and have been playing OOTP for several years.

Any chance the game is switching from your scout to an OSA rating? Sometimes the game will do that though I'm not exactly sure why.

Do you have ratings based on MLB, or the league player is in?
