Macbook overheating(barely anything on it)
I had this issue years ago which is what caused me to stop playing OOTP. I'm hoping someone is able to help me solve this. But the specs of my macbook are more than capable of running OOTP. After the last update it has started to overheat when running OOTP. That is the only time the fans go into overdrive as I like to call it. Is there something I'm supposed to be doing to the app that would help prevent it from sending my Mac into overdrive? I have a cooling fan on my Mac at all times as well.

When playing in 3d, the first one you probably want to try is the one listed in the .55 patch release:
Important info for mac users: With this change, we have made some changes to increase the in-game frame rate on macs. You may notice smoother game action. However, this may also cause some machines to do more work. If you are noticing your machine running hotter than expected, we recommend to go to the File->Settings, in the 3D tab, and setting an FPS limit to 60 or 120 (depending on your monitor). That should still leave good performance while not taxing the machine as much. In the latest patch update (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=363428), we've also added a few other options for enabling vsync, which is another mode which can help keep the game from over-working when it does not need to. |
