Lineups,playing time and depth charts
I am undertaking a huge project during my retirement .I will be constructing a 46 team league comprised of franchise best players post and pre 1960 .I have scheduled 256 games and will be using historical mass import to fill out rosters .Thus far the scheduling works out as I tested it in a fictional sand box setting .
Thanks to LandowneSt for the help in mass importing and helping me get over my lack of computer knowledge of where to put files into the game . My next hurdle is playing time .I do not want starting players playing in over 160 games as playing time should be spread out among reserves. I tried to use the lineup depth chart function but that does not seem to work at all unless I am doing something wrong .Custom lineups seems like the answer but is there a way to make those lineups automatically rotate through each game of will I need to manually enter the custom in before each game ? Any thoughts or help would be appreciated |

In League Settings --> Players & Team tab, there is a Setting for "Position Player Fatigue".
Setting that to High or Very High will mean that the "starting" players will need rest more often which will get the bench players more starts. |

Are you using players more than once? Is Willie Mays on both Giants teams? Tris Speaker on the Red Sox and Indians?

I've used player fatigue to control games played in historical games with low injury settings before. May be able to do the same in a 256 game schedule to limit folks to 160ish games played.
I don't mind testing some stuff out. What roster limit are you setting for teams?

Just following up.
I was unsuccessful getting anywhere close to 160 games peak for players using all the tricks I could think of. Best I had was top players playing around 225-230 games each. It's not my business, but I am curious what drives the preference for a 256 game schedule over a standard 162 game one.

I had the same results .A 258 game schedule is based on each team playing each other 6 times in my 44 team league .Also since it is a franchise pre 1962 and post 1962 league comprised of the best players ,it affords a chance of many players seeing meaningful playing time .i will aslo use 8 starting pitchers by juggling the 6 man rotation over several games played "segments"
