3D ballparks not working in imported league

Whenever I try to start the 3D Ballpark Construction Kit in the league I imported from OOTP 25, I get the attached error message. (This does not happen with a fictional test league.)


If I try to load up the 3D Model tab for any team whose ballpark I created in the OOTP 25 BCK, the game simply crashes to desktop. (This does not happen with teams whose ballpark I have not created.)


Any way I can fix any of this?

Me too. The park's auto defaults to 2D, which I can't use. My issue is in game. Also the ballparks effected were for expansion teams and were created by the AI going back several versions.

You may want or need to copy over the actual construction kit park files from your OOTP 25 install to OOTP 26. By default we don't import in those files. You should be able to find them I believe in the data/ballparks/models/construction_kit folder.

It took me a while to figure out which folder I was supposed to put them in (for others having the same issue: I moved all the .sc files from my OOTP 25/data/ballparks/models/construction_kit folder to OOTP 26/saved_games/[name of your save]/3d_ballparks/compositions/sc), but I have at least managed to get the 3D Ballpark Editor to open.


That's the good news. The bad news is that it still appears to be borked. As you can see in this shot, I can't edit the camera view (it's grayed out) and the elements themselves are wrong. This is persistent, even if I try to create a new default park or generate a random park.

I tested this, as well.


Whether a team has an existing 3D park from OOTP 25 or not, I get this error message and it defaults to 2D.


I have the debug files, if needed.

This did not work. I also tried changing the affected parks to the original parks, but that didn't work either.

This is my biggest issue ever with OOTP. Been paying since version 18

Same boat. Luckily, because I'd been in the offseason when I transferred, I was able to roll back to 25 and keep playing.


Between this and the issue with fixed-selection international tournaments—a thing I was going to do, for the very first time, in this coming season—I'm extremely disappointed. If at least there were a way to rebuild the ballparks, that'd be one thing, but it doesn't seem like the editor's going to work with that savefile at all.

Yes, trace files would be required. It would help if you can also share the data\ballparks\models\construction_kit\composition s, both the .ootp3d file and the .sc for the models in question, and we can see about reproducing.

If you can go play out a game in one of the broken parks, and also go to the park editor page for the park too, and then send us the trace file (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...03&postcount=9), we can look into it more. You can attach the trace to a post, or attach it in a PM are usually best.

I'm *very* frustrated by the ballpark problem in this version of the game. I'm unable to load a single ballpark, and I'm pissed. Fix it!

Has anyone found a fix or workaround? Should I try reloading from scratch. (Saving.my backup of course). I am up to spring training.

How to use Construction Kit parks from ootp25 in ootp26

Hey lnpgaceta,
I had a look on all the parks you've send to us and they all do work fine in ootp26.
There has been a path change for construction kit parks to make things more convenient for you guys but we missed to communicate that.
First of all, all construction kit parks consist of one ".sc" file and one ".ootp3d" file.
In ootp25, all construction kit parks ".sc" files are saved in the

"ballparks\models\construction_kit"

folder.To find the ".ootp3d" file of the same name like your ".sc" file you have to look through all the 5

"ballparks\models\construction_kit\parks\park_ X"

(for X in [0,1,2,3,4]) folders.
In ootp26 however, the ".sc" and ".ootp3d" files are stored per save_game. In case of "New Game 3.lg" for example they are
saved in the

"saved_games\New Game 3.lg\3d_ballparks\compositions\sc"

folder and the .ootp3d files are stored in the

"saved_games\New Game 3.lg\3d_ballparks\compositions\ootp3d"

folder.

So this is what you need to do to make it work:

1. Find all your ".sc" and ".ootp3d" files located below "ballparks\models\construction_kit" and copy the ".sc" files to

"saved_games\YOUR_SAVE_GAME_NAME.lg\3d_ballparks\c ompositions\sc"

and then copy the ".ootp3d" files to

"saved_games\YOUR_SAVE_GAME_NAME.lg\3d_ballparks\c ompositions\ootp3d"

2.Start oopt26 and for each team you want to use one of your ootp25 parks, first select that team from the team menu and then go to

"Team Settings / EDIT BALLPARKS / 3D MODEL"

to open up the park editor page.
On that page on the upper right of the side bar click on "LOAD 3D MODEL..."
Then navigate to

"saved_games\YOUR_SAVE_GAME_NAME.lg\3d_ballparks\c ompositions\sc"

and choose your ballpark from ootp25 there. It should open up with no problems.
Please report back if it worked for you or if you still have any difficulties with that.

Can you please build a patch to automate.this? Or step by step with screenshots. I don't like messing around with this stuff unless I am 1000% sure I know what I am doing. The fix should really be on you're end.

The first park seemed to work, but the second park gave me this. I still have several parks to check, but I am awaiting your reply. I can't get a proper screenshot. The image is all brown dirt, close up showing the plate lower left and the mound halfway up. There are 2 foul poles set off to the left. and a black wall behind them. I am working on getting a screenshot.

Hey Bobfather,
please copy all the ".sc" and ".ootp3d" files with the same name per stadium for all stadiums that are not working to a folder, zip it, upload it to our ftp and post the name of the zip here. Here is a link to the discribtion of how todo this:
