Continental Baseball League - Years in the Making...

Everyone -

I've been preparing to make this post for years now and the fact that I'm finally doing it is kind of freaking me out. I've been a loyal OOTP user for at least 10 years now and a (mostly) lurker on these forums for almost as long. I started developing an interest in creating fictional teams on OOTP pretty soon after I first started playing the game and discovered these forums soon after that. I tend to get pretty obsessed with things I find interesting, so it didn't take long for me to become completely obsessed with finding as many cool logos as possible. I started off by spending hours digging through these forums, Google Images, Pinterest, Dribbble, and Chris Creamer's Logos in search of as many cool logos as I could find. Naturally, this didn't fully satiate my appetite as I pretty quickly started coming up with my own team location/nickname combos and became frustrated at my inability to find suitable logos, or logos with text that didn't match what I wanted.

This led me to start playing around with GIMP which, of course, led to me purchasing Adobe Illustrator and devouring every tutorial I could get my hands on. I actually developed such an interest in graphic design that I started taking classes at the local community college to get better. While I still have a hard time creating completely custom logos that I feel are good enough for me to use, I've gotten good enough to be able to edit existing logos and I've gotten pretty good at using Chat GPT to create something decent enough for me to clean up in Illustrator.

All of this is a long-winded way for me to say that I have created my own custom league in OOTP that I am finally happy enough with to feel comfortable presenting it here. I still have a decent amount of work left to do, as I am almost constantly adding or re-doing teams, but I at least have, at minimum, a main logo ready to go for each team. So, without further ado, here is a quick breakdown of the league, along with a quick outline of what I plan on presenting:

The league is made up of 40 teams, with 2 sub-leagues and 8 divisions with 5 teams per division. Each team has 5 minor league teams in their system, which makes a total of 200 minor league teams stretched across 5 levels, 15 leagues and all 50 states, plus Canada.

I'm planning on starting by presenting each league, with maps of the teams in the league and a breakdown of the divisions. After that, I'll go team-by-team, starting with the CBL teams before moving on to the minor league teams. Each team-specific post will include logos, wordmarks, and stadium info. Eventually, I'll post jerseys but, to be honest, those tend to take me a long time and creating them right now will really slow down my progress.

I'm sure there's stuff I'm forgetting, but for now I want to get on with it so I will follow-up this initial post with another one that includes a map of the CBL teams and a breakdown of each league.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to look at this!

AAA - Lighthouse League

I'm going to go ahead and skip the league map - they're hard to read and more of a pain in the ass to create than I expected.

Looks like you've got a great foundation. Any plans to share the uniforms? I'd love to see the uniforms and read the backgrounds you've developed for your clubs.

Thanks for responding! I'm going to finish posting the league sheets today and then move on to team-by-team breakdowns. I wasn't sure if people would be interested in the short "history" of each team that I developed, so I'm excited that you asked for that! I've lagged a bit on the uniforms because I get so wrapped up in the logos, but I'll get to work on jerseys so I can include those.

If there ends up being enough interest, I'll try to set up a Google Drive or something else to allow people to download all the logos and uniforms themselves.

I always enjoy when people build a fictional universe and share it with us. One day I'll create one that's of similar depth and write a book like another member here did. For reference, the book is Lord Bart and the Leagues of Sip and Ale by Michael Barbato-Dunn (edit: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/member.php?u=30062).

Also, I absolutely love your Hawaii division. I lived in Pearl City for 4-years, so nice to see them getting some love as the city is always overshadowed by Pearl Harbor and Aiea.
