OOTP26 MLB expansion teams
Does V26 allow for future expansion of MLB cities or do I have to alter a setting? Thank you.

if in standard or fictional games depends if you want to do it manually or let the game handle it. If letting the game handle it just need to enable automatci evolution then the specific evolution options you want
If in historical mode just need to make sure historical evolution is enabled |

This is sort of a layer I wish OOTP would approach but so far they haven't touched it. It would be great if they would expound on financials. I want stadium lease and naming rights contracts that change over time with the mechanism to rebuild or relocate if your current situation becomes unbearable. I would like minor league affiliate contracts, they do change over time, but not in OOTP unless you do it manually. There's just a lot of 'behind the scenes' things that have been static and untouched in over 20 years. I appreciate the mechanism is there to do it manually, but that's my other issue with OOTP in recent years, the lack of automation. These things can be very time consuming to implement manually.

But yes--very difficult to implement, vast majority of userbase probably would never use it. |

My own preference on expansion is to handle it manually myself. To make things more competitive, I [1] limit the number of protected players for established teams to twelve (leaving on the default setting that protects players with under three years of service and all minor leaguers), and no protecting an additional player after one is selected; [2] give expansion franchises budgets equivalent to established teams, so they can sign free agents; [3] create minor league A or high-A or AA teams for the expansion franchises, starting a year or two before expansion (these teams are technically unaffiliated in OOTP, since the expansion organizations don't exist until the year of expansion) so they can develop young players; and [4] let the expansion teams pick first and second in the amateur draft. It's work but more fun.
For 2025 I am adding teams in Buffalo (the Wild Wings) and Charlotte (the Hive), and realigning with four leagues of eight teams. Plus the Rays to Montreal (as the Mounties) and the Pirates to New Orleans (as the Buccaneers), each with new ownership willing to spend money.
