Fairly major issue with hover links

In a game imported from 25 to 26, I am getting different players coming up on totally unrelated hover links, it seems just for recently retired players.

It's possible something did not import correctly, and that some file got missed.

The other option is that if you have the option selected to delete players who never reached the majors, in which case retired minor leaguers will be deleted and their ids may be re-used for new players that the game creates.

The second seems more likely as I do have that setting chosen. Either it has never happened before, however, or I simply haven't noticed it because it's the first time I'm seeing it.
