How go get a guy to waive his NTC?

I would guess IRL benching him for a prolonged period may make him angry enough to do it.

Anyone found a way to get "that guy" out of town in the game tho?

I've definitely waived a guy over 50 times in a single day before to try and get him to lower his mood enough to waive a NTC. You can also play guys as often (or little) as you want, but if they will base their mood about playing time based on where they appear in the primary lineup (usually vRHP w/DH in my experience; whichever one shows up on the Team Home screen), which obviously can be both good (let a scrub think he's playing everyday, or have a NTC guy think he's stapled to the bench even though you're giving him 700 PAs) or bad (your platoon hitter or superutility guy thinks he's never playing even if he's getting 400+ PAs).

I have the same issue! Demoting the player to AAA got the status to show he would consider trading to a number of different teams...but he still blocks a trade to every one of them.

Edit: after messing around for a while moving him through different minor league teams I got his status to update to say he would accept a trade to NYY only. That's the team trying to trade him! Quality trolling.

Sometimes a guy is settled down with his family, and even if you bench him and ban him from the changing room and cut holes in his jersey he is happy chilling and making his salary. Not much you can do but see if he has some teams he will move to by checking his contract page!

If your willing to go through with the above shenanigans just go to edit and turn it off. This way you have talked to the player and he has agreed to wave the NTC. I also would turn it back on after the trade. But you do you.

Sometimes that's not possible (online leagues).

You may need to wait. IME player would not wave the no-trade, but I came back about a week later, and the player did.
You may be at the trade deadline, and that's a problem, I have no answer. But I was lucky to have started the trade discussions early before the trade deadline.
