Luis Gil rating

I am in a money league and we take this serious (money will do that). I was disappointed to see Luis Gil is a 44 OV. I am probably less disappointed than the GM who has Paul Skenes at 49.

What confuses me that Andrew Painter, who has never pitched above AA and has missed the last two season is a 50.

Scott Randall who has pitched a total of 4 innings at AA and everything else in A ball is a 50,

Nick Frasso, who has never pitched in the majors and missed all of last year is a 51.

Is there a reasonable explanation for this ?

If you want to be considered the top simulation baseball game out there you have to do better.

Have you considered that this is how your scouts view them, and not the game itself?

Test sim several seasons and I bet Skrnes and Gil out perform the other two every time

Sounds like it’s scouting fog depending on how your scout views them. With scouting on also assuming even looking at the combination of other scouts there is still fog there

Personally for me, that is what makes the game so good is the randomness and unknown. But I do understand with it being a money league. Might wanna spend the most on the best scout available.

Turn off scouting before looking at ratings

With scouting on, they are massively different than the 'real' ratings.

My guess is also that anyone expecting 2024 Luis Gil should probably re-adjust their expectations, regardless of scouting. Even before the injury for example ZiPS was projecting 130 IP of 4.14 ERA / 4.20 FIP from him, for 1.7 WAR.
