Ootp 25
Background. I published a novel last November and the sport I used was basketball. This is the sequel and I'm using baseball.
What I'd like to be able to do is create fictionalized league with fictionalized players (middle schoolers in this case), simulating stats, games, etc. I've never played OOTP, but it was suggested to me as a way to maybe make this happen. How customizable is OOTP? can I do all of this? how about player portraits? can they be customized or imported? Should I go ahead with OOTP 25 or wait for 26? I should have thought about it for basketball too lol. I know it's just a novel, but I like world building and this makes it more real for me. |

It is more customizable than any sports game and then some. I have created a Baseball Academy for young players in one of my fictional leagues, ages 13 to 16 and even seen the game create some 12 yr old players (This would be great for your middle school league).
The game generates photos for players but you can import your own player photos. I remember importing the actual photo of Babe Ruth in one of my leagues. Did you use a simulator to help with your basketball book? |

I can't see any reason why the version of OOTP would matter for your project. Get 25 while it's cheap.

That is great to hear! I was still leaning on the fence as to purchasing it or not. Unfortunately, I did not use anything for the basketball part, but I wish I would have. I made it up as I went along. I used to play basketball so it was okay. I'd like to make this one more specific like mentioning certain stats rather than just generic. |

I am interested in past time periods for a different reason. Although the middle school is fictitious, they do yard work for an old lady and she gives them baseball cards of her late husband and he was sort of a big deal back in the day. He's fictitious. |

Well, it may not be the greatest, but it's good therapy for me. It's called "Chasing Shadows" by Thomas Alexander Pyron (I included the name as their are other books with same title). |
