Question: Juan Soto on Padres at start of 2024 Season?

I'm trying to figure out why this is happening and whether its a bug.

Here's what I've done:
1.) Simmed from 1992

2.) Current Game Date: Thur Feb 22nd, 2024
3.) Game=>League Settings=>Update Player Ratings Using Live Stats
4.) Game=>League Settings=>Historical: Use RL Historical Transactions, Use real IL transactions, Use Real historical lineups

For some reason at the start of 2024, Juan Soto is still on the Padres instead of the Yankees.

Are my expectations wrong, or is this a bug in the database somewhere? Wondering how many other players may be on wrong teams at the start of 2024 now.

Historical mode does not update for 2024 in OOTP 25 (for obvious reasons, as the season hadn't even happened yet at the game's release).

OOTP26 will have the updated historical db through the 2024 season, including real-life transactions.

Actually, that does not make any sense. Because when I run the Update for Live stats, Paul Skenes ends up a starting pitcher for the Pirates instead of in the Minors with pretty close stats to what he ended up with at the end of 2024.

Point being, normally player changes at the start of a year normally show up on the correct team when updating live stats and using historical transactions etc.

To clarify a little further, OOTP has three main modes that use real rosters.

There are variants of these as well, but these are essentially the main ones. Each work in a different way and allow you to do different things.

New Standard Game (Or current season quickstart) - Allows you to play the current season with rosters and data as they were at Opening Day.

Live Start - Allows you to play the current season with rosters and data updated to the current day or the season (only through the end of the postseason).

Historical - Allows you to play any past season, but only includes data from seasons that have passed, not from the current season.

The update player live stats becomes active/available each year. Interestingly, the historical real life check boxes become inactive each year when simming.

Yeah it appears the transaction database isn't updated , kept up to date unfortunately. It's a shame you can use the Update Player Ratings Live data and get players corrected for teams they're with but not for players that changed teams.

Live stats changes ratings. It has nothing to do with transactions. OOTP25 is for the 2024 season, meaning anything historical ends at 2023.
