Pitcher as Closer -vs- Reliever?

Just finished this year's draft. I drafted closers and relievers.

How does OOTP distinguish between identifying and assigning the closer role versus just a reliever? Stamina? Type of pitches? Number of pitches?

Do you have feeders or game generated draftees? Generally CL/RP is impacted by the pitcher's role

My experience is generally the highest rated reliver gets the closer role.

The yearly daft is OOTP generated. Just trying to find why they are assigned a closer by OOTP when they are generated each year.

Most times this is right, but not always

For game generated drafts, I thought it corresponded with their statlines. As in, if the player gets enough HS/COL saves, they will be listed as a CL instead of just a RP, but that does not seem to be the case. It appears to be somewhat random. For the pool I was looking at, the best reliever was listed as a RP and he had 12 saves

It might just be a numbers thing. Of the 76 relievers, 11 were closers. This is about 15% of the total relievers. More importantly, it's almost exactly 1 of 7, which roughly lines up with a regular pen. If you have 7 relievers, that's a 12 man staff, and 1 of those is going to be a closer
