Starters all need to be able to relieve

I know this has been mentioned...but it definitely needs to be addressed. In a playoff game, I take a one run lead in the top of the 10th. Botton of 10th, computer allows weak hitting reliever to hit because no one is left in the bullpen. There was one position player available to hit. Basically gave up an out in a very crucial situation.

Any starting pitcher that is rested should be able to pitch 3-4 innings at any given time (especially in the playoffs when most teams go with a four man rotation max).

This happened today, with David Wells pitching 5 2/3 innings of a 17 inning game after coming into the game in the 12th inning.

Steve Sparks also pitched 7 2/3 innings of relief in this game for the Tigers

I agree that starters should be able to relieve. Y'all remember
back in 2001 in the seventh game when Randy Johnson relieved Curt Schilling? Randy's a starter, but he still relieved.

Pedro kicked some serious tail in the playoffs against the Indians in relief a few years back. That was a great game.

Were these guys in your rotation? I know the computer won't pull anyone in to pitch if they have a regular rotation spot.
