Duplicate Coaches

So I'm running a dynasty from 1995 as the Yankees. I have my assistant GM set to handle minor hirings/firings.


I go look at my staff at the end of 1996 and see Joe Torre managing my AA team. I laugh and think "wow, how the mighty have fallen!" Out of curiosity I look at the Cardinals to see who they hired to replace old Joe, and Gasp! He's still managing the Cardinals!



The one managing the Cardinals has his historical coaching record but not linked to the historical player profile. The one managing my AA team has his historical player profile.


I looked through some FA personnel briefly and found Tony La Russa as an available bench coach with no coaching history BUT linked to his profile. La Russa also managing the A's still.



TLDR Summary:
It seems historical games are not linking the initial coaches to their historical player profiles at game start which means some of them can get recreated as coaches.




My suggestion:

Adding a global function to "validate coaches" in the database options. This would go through and link coaches to their historical player profile if they have their lahman id connected and import their coaching history up to that year.

Bumping this as I’ve now replicated it with dozens of coaches. Roberto Clemente was hired as a hitting coach by the expos in a 1993 game started in 1991.
