Need some input

Got an idea for a new random league and I'm thinking about giving it a try once the new patch drops(drops, is me being hip).

Going to do a post integration random debut. One has to have played in 1947 or later to be eligible to participate. Will set the random minimum to 1947 and the maximum open.

3 year recalc, double weighted with development turned on as well. TCR will be set at either 140 or 150. As usual, I will disable the development and draft combine.

Thinking about trying something new in regards to the adjust/weaken settings. Going to stick with the default settings for hitters. For pitchers, I'm going to use the defaults x 3 method. Hoping this puts an end to some of the never was guys turning into super relievers.that repeat the same season over and over again.

The thing I need help with is, what season should I start with? What format should I use? Leaning towards using 1978, 1979 or 1986 as my starting point. Can't decide if I want to delete just 2 teams and go with the 1969-1976 MLB format, or if I want to delete 6 teams and go with 4 divisions of 5 to start. Eliminating 6 teams gives me enough player depth to make injuries a part of the game right from the start. But, eliminating 6 teams can sometimes make for some over stacked teams, so that's a point against it. I do love injuries though, so......

I plan on starting the league in a particular year and from that point forward, it will remain that year forever, or until I decide elsewise. I'm only going to run auto-calc prior to the first year. From that point forward,
the league will simply go whatever way OOTP and the talent levels take it.

Part of me wants to start the league using the reserve clause. Main problem here is, will payers retire in a normal fashion?

Do I want to use the default setting for closers or up it to often? I do like watching the saves leaderboard grow over time, so do I want 20 and 30 save leeders or 30-50 save leaders per season?

Another thing I'm trying to decide on is, Strict, occasionally start the highest rested or Always start the highest rested? Leaning toward Always. Will never use strict, so that's out. Always start the highest is fun because the top 2 starters get treated as such.

So, any thoughts on how this will work? Would love to hear if I'm missing something.
