FTP Hosts
My league will be starting in just a few weeks and I need an ftp host for my league members to use to transfer their team files. I have my own webspace with an FTP account, but I'd like to keep this one separate from that.
What is the best solution? Should i just choose a free webhosting provider and use the ftp account that comes with that? Is there a better option? |

I doubt very seriously you will find a hosting provider for free that provides the type of FTP space and reliability that you need in order to run a league successfully.
You're probably best off spending the few bucks per month it takes to purchase a hosting account if you want to do it right. Some hosting providers I've seen that league commissioners have used successfully are: All-In-1 Web Solutions http://www.allin1websolutions.com/ Sim Leagues http://www.simleagues.com/ PowWeb http://www.powweb.com/ |

Depending on who your host is, you could even create separate ftp accounts. One for team exports only, if you like. |

I did not realize that my password would be starred out... that was really my only concern. Thanks anyway for the suggestions; I guess I'm OK.

Whoops, I may have misunderstood the original question. For team exports ONLY, then you wouldn't necessarily have to purchase a complete hosting account. But most leagues are going to want to have some place to put their HTML report files, which are a lot larger and I would assume be a lot tougher to maintain with a free host service.

Yeah, I am actually paying for my host.. fortunecity.com. It was important for me to have my own domain name, and I wanted to have enough space to put up the league html reports. |
