Good afternoon outstanding OOTP community! I'm seeking advice and guidance on how best and most efficiently go about meeting the Owner Goal to "Build Top-6 Minor League System." Currently I'm playing as the much-maligned Miami Marlins. Seems like my "owner" has set his highest priority and non-negotiable goal to build a top-6 minor league system within three years. Seems like a tall task in such a short time period. Could you please offer any expertise or guidance on how best to approach this goal? In addition, I play with the highest trade difficulty setting.

From as far as I can tell, and I may be wrong, the minor league system rankings are based in large part on how many top 100 prospects you have in your system and what their individual rank is.
To satisfy the formula that ranks systems in the short term, try to sign as many 5 star potential international guys as you can, and of course draft 5 star kids out of high school. All of this means it could be 5-6 seasons before any of these guys might be ready to help your big league team. I don't put much personal stock in the system rankings. You can be the #1 ranked system but if all of those guys are in Rookie ball and years away and you need help right now, that ranking really doesn't indicate how well your minor league system is supporting the big league club.

I find trading for high ranked prospects is harder than ever in this years version, which I love. But I'm sure jazz Chisholm could fetch a top prospect and maybe another top 100 or close to that prospect in return. I'm sure you're not in a position to compete over the next few seasons, so Chisholm needs to be used as bait to bring back some quality prospects. I feel the best way to build your minor system quickly is by signing international amateurs. Always try and land one of the highest rated and another mid level prospect. Increase your draft funds, so during the draft you could draft a couple players with high potential who want big signing bonuses... increase your player development budget so hopefully you're system strengthens through development over the years. Also, don't forget to check out your head scout, make sure he has good ratings in scouting younger players, internationals, minor leagues, and amatuers...

I trade as many multiple of the lower rounds as I can to get higher round picks, even if it is only 1 or 2 extra picks, especially if I'm already low on the draft list. Sometimes I only have 1 or 2 picks in the entire draft, but it may be the #1 or two 1st rounders. My minor league ranking is usually always top 5.
