Historical Managers
I would like to begin to introduce great managers into the WBL. Does anyone know of resources or anyone who has done legwork into how to reflect, say Earl Weaver's _platoons, walks, and 3 run homers_ approach or Connie Mack's or Sparky Anderson's style, etc. in OOTP?
Clearly, part of what makes a manager great is adjusting to their talent and their times, but it would be nice to see them manage in ways that reflect historical behavior. I would probably set their potential very high and then give them a job at AA as a 25 year old and see if the game recognized/developed them ...

Sweeeet. The Backgrounds doc may be the most important part of it--I may start to create from scratch, based on that, on the assumption the strategic rating system has changed since then. If I do, I'll update here with the results, and export files if I can attach them.

This is telling of how new I am to this idea. It doesn't look like there is an overall CURRENT SKILL / POTENTIAL SKILL rating for coaches. They have tendencies and abilities to teach, but that seems about it.
My original idea was to set the historical managers to whatever the highest potential was, make their profile, and let the game take it from there. But it looks like I may have to be more directive than that.

As anyone who actually played in MLB will (hopefully) move through the WBL as a player first, Imma start with
Frank Selee Joe McCarthy Walter Alston Earl Weaver A bunch of notables are already in the WBL as players, so will move them to managers as their careers end. More as I figure out how to make them "attractive" to teams to hire.
