Question Very low pitcher pitch ratings?

First off, I’d like to thank the developers for producing another marvelous product. I will continue purchasing a copy as long as you guys keep making them. However, in my experience playing this version so far, I’d say there is one glaring issue that I can’t get past. When running a present-day franchise, most pitchers, especially pitchers in the earlier-middle parts of the their development phase, the pitch value ratings seem to be extremely low across the board. There are many top pitching prospects that don’t see any development in the ratings of their pitches. In a nutshell, in all my sims, there’s a ton of top pitching prospects who look awesome on the surface but then you see their pitch ratings and it’s a bunch of 35’s. And I’m not talking one or two pitches - I mean all their pitches, and it seems to stay that way for most (if not all) of their careers. It’s a crappy feeling have all your pitchers turn into busts and for the MLB to feel like you’re playing in the PCL. Am I the only one or are there any other people having a similar experience?

We adjusted the pitch views for the next patch, they should look a lot better now.

I am still seeing really weird pitcher ratings. For example, Corbin Burnes is a 45 / 45 with all of his five pitches in the 25 - 35 range. This is with perfect scouting on and his ratings displayed relative to other players at his position. And this is consistent for almost all pitchers. Pablo Lopez is a 35. Gerrit Cole is a 45, etc.

When you say "next patch" is that still upcoming?

Curious where you are seeing this. Is this in a new standard game, or an old game? An old game would not have the adjustments. Here's what I see with a current standard game:

Check your version number. There have been multiple patches released since this issue existed.

You can find the latest patch in a stickied thread within this forum.

First time poster, long time player. I also noticed the "feel" of less total strikeouts and investigated the simulation engine values. Note the values in the left column of "League Totals" in the Stats & AI section of league creation:

I checked these values against the league totals for the 2023 MLB season, and found the simulation engine values are approximately double the 2023 totals, with one considerable exception: Strikeouts. There were ~21,300 strikeouts in the 2023 MLB regular season according to baseball almanac, so doubling this should give a a value of 42,600, or 20% more strikeouts than the 35,500 value the engine is based off of. Making the change in my file increased the total strikeouts to an MLB-like feel, improving my gameplay experience! I hope this helps anyone else who may be confused.
