I don't think this one is new for OOTP25 since I'm positive I saw this too in some previous versions. If you check you will see that the single season batting records section doesn't take into account the minimum AB required for a record to count.
I have a feeling that very few, if any, noticed because low AB season is normal in the 19th century but not in modern ML and we know that most users start their game in 1901... I'm sure there is an easy fix to finally correct that bug (I'm not a programmer so don't rage at me if this is in fact very very hard to fix).

The 260 may be pulling from the current year schedule and doing the 3.1 PA math for you as a courtesy. Based on the number of games in 1872, I reckon he hits the threshold.
What the BBR rule is as a reference (recognizing they aren’t OOTP per se) https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Qualifier

I know and it's cool that it isn't the modern days number needed (or the board and the team page wouldn't have any averages leaders) but the player stay on the board when the minimum requirement goes up... this is why Barnes will stay there forever unless someone hit for an average higher than .473 in the future which is highly improbable if you ask me. It's already the case in that simulation since Barnes AB in 1872 (228) are lower than the required number in 1878 (260).

Yeah, but that’s how rate stats work. Not just in the game but in the record books. See here:
https://www.baseball-reference.com/l...progress.shtml Ignore Levi because there is a break separating the NA from the rest of MLB. You are describing the Tetelo issue. Short MLB season. Meets the 3.1 stat minimum. Like Barnes in your game, Tetelo in real life isn't going anywhere. That’s the real rule, not a bug.

OK, that feels weird and wrong to me but if it's the rule it's the rule... not much we can do for the poor future guys who will never be able to beat the league season record
