Quick rant: Why is my third base coach holding runners at third with a clear advantage
Over the last few weeks of games, I have seen way too many instances of my third base coach holding a runner at third when he has a clear advantage -- based on ratings -- on a hit to the outfield.
Why am I not seeing the option to send the runner, especially when there are two outs. (Because invariably, the next hitter hits a weak grounder or pops out to end the inning). I'd rather have them get thrown out at the plate based on my own decision. Is it something to do with my game-play settings or my base coaches. In the last 10 games, I have probably seen this issue 5 to 10 times. |

Because ratings only matter if the ball is in the right place. He's holding your guy because there's no chance of him making it home safely based on where the ball/runner is. The game only asks you if it's a close decision, it's not going to let you run a guy into an automatic out.
Or maybe your 3BC is just bad, how's his in-game running skill? |

Keep in mind on field models are just that, not an actual representation of play nor does the outcome have any input from on field model. At this point, story told by on-field 3D model is not always 100% accurate of actual play including ball positions and timing.
