Why is the draft pool announced when the draft pool hasn't been announced?

My list of events says the draft pool announcements are May 27. But when I go to the Rookie Draft pages and hit Draft Pool, there are already players there. How come I have a draft pool when it isn't announced until May 27th?

Not sure, but that may be the list of players who were not drafted (or did not sign) the previous year.

Or, the list you see might be the guys who are graduating or losing their college eligibility, so they are in the pool regardless, and don't need to declare they are coming out of college early.

I'll be interested to hear how/if the pool changes after the announcement date. My guess is you will see some additional college undergrads and high school guys who want to test the water.

Even though the OFFICAL draft pool has not been released, there is a draft pool. You can even change the year and see possible players in the future years.
