Game Crashing

OK, I have downloaded the game, and I sort of downloaded the patch, I clocked on the patch and it opened but I didnt do anything with it. I decided to play it safe, but when I opened OOTP5 and tried to sim or do basically anything it would tell me that it had to close. Im running on Windows XP. What should i do? Is it possible to completely uninstall the game and re-install the game without buying it again. I downloaded it straight from the site today.

You need to give us:

-details about your system, as much as you can.
-what exactly you were trying to do when this happened.

What do you mean? Umm it is Windows XP, what else may you need?

I was just trying to sim to get to the rookie draft (which is why I decided to try OOTP5 over BBm2k4. I tried to sim ("Sim to selected days") and it gave me that error report screen. I can try to send the error report if it will help.

Free HD space, RAM, have you updated to direct X9? Also, what type of league are you talking about?

I'm not sure what any of that HD or X9 is. I just got my windows xp 2-3 weeks ago and have download bbm2k3-4 and kazaa and thats about it, there arent many programs on it. And what do you mean by league? I just hit continue game and tried to sim to get a feel of the game because this game and bbm2k3-4 are very different it was like I was playing something completely different. I have to admit OOTP% is flashier and has more features I would like, like amateur draft and such.
