My understanding of how the game works regarding coaches is that if your league does not use coaches then everyone is essentially assumed to have average coaches for purposes where they are involved. So nothing requires you to have coaches on to make it work (except for of course managing coaches
 )

I think this is a very solid release. A lot of great under the hood mechanical changes I think will ultimately prove to be a great improvement. For me though, the lack of international leagues is still a major drawback though. So I wil look at this version as a bit “bitter sweet” (Big Head Todd)
So while last years version I think was definitely a bit lackluster, this years I think is shaping up nicely. I have to admit I had my doubts but I’m very happy to have been proven wrong so far! |

importing a fictional league from 24 hasn't worked out. Pretty much every prospect is now 2 1/2 stars or less potential.

The star system seems to be messed up after importing a league from 24. Seems like almost all minor league players are now 2 star potential with the switch to 550. Perhaps the star system should be revamped to 6 stars. I know stars are not the full story but many of us use them to get a quick 10,000 foot view now they seem completely useless. Spending more time on an already deep game doesn't actually feel fun to me.
100% scouting accuracy for both. on the other end prospects 21-100 potential
OOTP 24 had 59 out of 80 were prospects at 3.5 stars or up OOTP 25 had the same prospects and only 5 of the 80 were 3.5 stars and up. total both those up and OOTP 24 21 of the top 100 were 3 stars or less OOTP 25 79 of the top 100 were 3 stars or less Last edited by Crickett13; 03-12-2024 at 11:20 PM. |

created a quick historical game to check out the new historical creation options.
played opening day to check out the new 3D skins, which are a fun novelty. very first game played in OOTP 25, Pascual Perez throws a no-hitter and gets injured on the last pitch of the game. Pretty epic

So far in OOTP 25 I have yet to have a draft class w anyone better than 3 stars. But IFAs have been loaded w 5 stars and my scout has discovered a handful of 4 and 5 star guys. Small sample size ... will continue to sim tomorrow. Started in '24 as Cubs, up to Nov '26 now.

I've imported 6 leagues from 24 and all has worked with some slight fixing for some teams main logo. Seems that the small logos were all good. No big deal. Happy it all worked for me. Thank you team.
