I was adding a player through the lahman database. It was Bucky Guth who played SS for the twins starting in 1972. I entered in his name guthbu01 (which is correct) and then I entered in 1972, or so I thought, as I clicked enter, i saw i entered 19722. I then got a message saying OOTP5 must close. I tried deleting him, I tried editing it so he had an injury.

This guy is unbelievably good but he is hampering what I want to do. I saw this as a problem with someoen else but can't seem to find the thread anymore.

Any suggestions?

I have this player that would just dominate in the league. I can't delete him, it doesn't let me. He would be like a Cy Young pitching in a Little League game. If I try and delete him or do something to him, the game crashes.

I can just re-import him, but I don't want this guy in my league because 1) his name is 1. 3089u23#4dfj30935#98lk035 or some other gobeltygook and 2) he never played for this Twins

Okay, and you are sure you can't just go to league, free agents, left click on the player, and delete him?

Well, sorry I can't offer any suggestions. I've never had this happen, so I can't tell you of any possible workarounds. And I just spent the last half hour searching for something, specifcally that thread you were talking about in your first post, but still nothing.

Sorry, maybe someone else can help...

On a sidenote, did you get all the logos you needed for your fictional league, or do you still need more?

I am not sure if this would work, but maybe you could use Pierre's editor and give him a career ending injury.

Yea, same happened to me when importing players using Lahman. I guess it's a bug that should be reported- I believe if you put in more (and perhaps fewer) than 4 digits for the year, or perhaps just put in a year not in the DB you're using, 1) the game crashes and 2) the game often then creates these fake players which cause the game to crash when you click on them.

Look in the mod forum and I believe that Pierre made a utility that you could delete players with. It was actually to "purge" players but it may work.

Unretire, Event Generator, Coach/Player Editor

just did that, i did a search for purge, did a search for PLG (under the username) did a search for PLG under mods and got http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...der=descending

it doesn't look like there is anything there that does that, could it have been someone else? or could it have been under one of those and i'm just to stupid to know?

And I just spent the last half hour searching for something, specifcally that thread you were talking about in your first post, but still nothing. Sorry, maybe someone else can help...
