Trying to Clarify One More Setting

Restarted my 1970 play, planning to run the decade.I have the Pirates. Plan to use Recalc Players each year based on Real Life. That setting leads to this question. When I started, I found 2 players that will make the Major League Roster. But I believe they are fictional players, as I have not found any record of them in Majors or Minors. One of them has a 4+ star rating and a $70,000 contract. (Dustin Bates, the other is Chris House) If (or others like them) don't have any stats to re-calculate by, what happens to these players, especially if they have a good year? Does the game calculate by the game results? BTW, I also have Delete Players Who Never Made the Majors turned on. (Should I turn this off?) I want decently real stats with some variation, and I don't mind the occasional minor / fictional player making a good career.
