SFTP Setup Issues
I have the correct settings for server, username, password and port, however it will not work in the FHM9 online settings.
However, when I use Filezilla, it connects no issue. I've tried every FTP Mode option there is and it doesn't work. I do not that when connecting with FZ, it did prompt for the certificate but I don't get that prompt when using FHM so I wonder if it's just denying the connection. I'm speaking to GD Support now as this is an FTP service through Managed WordPress, but I wanted to put this out here for help. |

I've confirmed with GoDaddy support that it's to be Passive SSL for the connection. When I attempt to add all of the details into FHM, I get errors connecting yet Filezilla works without issue. There is a certificate prompt, for sure, so I am wondering how I can access that with the program to accept it, or import it?

What error(s) are you getting when you attempt to connect?

Generic:
FHM could not connect to <hostname> I've tried IP, didn't work. I use FileZilla, and I can connect no issue. |

Could I get any feedback on this? It seems simple and I doubt I'm the only person to have this issue.

Can you upload your save file (instructions here)? I'd like to have a look at the exact settings you're using and see if I can connect using them.

Done. Saved as WEGHL.lg.zip. I removed the Graphics sub folder but included everything else.

OK, it's not connecting for me, either, and I'm getting a couple of error messages in the debug log when I try it, but they're lengthy yet not particularly informative about what the exact problem is. I'm going to have Sebastian take a look at those and see if he can tell what's going on.

Thank you. I suspect it's certificate based acceptance as I get that when connecting with FZ but not the FHM.

Sorry, we've had no luck figuring out what's going wrong there. It won't connect for any of us, either, but the error response it gives isn't shedding any light on what the problem is. One odd thing, though: Sebastian tried using your settings from the game in filezilla and wasn't able to connect that way, either. Just to rule out the obvious, maybe double-check and make sure there's no difference between what you've got in FZ and what's in the game's online settings.

I'm going to double-check, but I've done this a few times and always had success with FZ and never with FHM.

I've tried it several times and I am able to successfully connect with FileZilla and not FHM. I do note that when I save FTP settings going through File>Online League>Online League FTP Settings, and save it, it won't save, but when I do it a second time it does.
I'm not sure what to do. I can give you the details in a DM and you can confirm that is what you see in the League File. Let me know. If I can't get the FTP to work, what other easy ways can I get files to GMs and their files to me, automatically? |

Yeah, please send me the details, that's worth a look.
Without using the ftp, you'd need to have them send you the files via email (or some other means) and place them in the save's import_export folder manually; there's an option (right under the 'import from server' one) in File-Setup/Options-Online League to import directly from that folder. |

Hi Jeff,
I sent a DM but when I check my sent items it says 0. Did you get it? |

Got it, still waiting to hear back on a possible problem, but there's something you can test: if you can, try reducing the length of the server password to 8-9 characters. I think the game may be cutting off everything after the 9th - the error messages don't indicate that, but it's worth a try.

I've looked into this and I cannot change the password length. In fact, the username and password is generated for me and the previous is destroyed. It won't allow for anything less than the 14 characters.
What SFTP servers are people typically using? Mine is through the GoDaddy Managed Wordpress. |

Did you ever find the fix to this? I have the same exact problem. I would post but it would be literally word-for-word. Connected just fine in FileZilla.
I was able to shorten my password and that was not the fix. |
