Number of threads that OOTP24 will leverage

In the process of building a new gaming rig and as OOTP is the game I spend the most time on, I know the CPU will be important. I'm trying to decide between the 7800x3d and the 7950x3d...Just wondering if OOTP can actually leverage the 32 threads that the 7950x3d has available? Looking at my install (under Settings, Expert), my Helper Threads only goes up to 24. Is that a limitation of my current CPU or is that the game max limit? the 7800x3d only has 16 threads and handles GPU intensive games actually better but if I can actually leverage all 32 threads on the 7950 it may sway my decision.
TIA!

I think I answered my own question...but just to make sure...helper threads in OOTP are based on the number of physical cores on the CPU correct? So using the hardware I'm looking at, the 7800x3d has 8 cores, while the 7950x3d has 16. I would/should be selecting 8 or 16 helper threads respectively?

It would be nice if a developer would answer this. I am curious as well

This game doesn't put much strain on computers. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. lol

Generally speaking, you can select whatever the CPU thinks its "virtual" core count is without issue. The list we give is up to double what the core count is, so getting a 32 core box you should be able to select 32 on there.

I'm not an expert on all the chipsets, but I can't imagine either of them having any trouble with the game. I mean, I'm sure the better one will be better, but whether it's noticeably better, I can't say.

My "too many leagues and teams + aging laptop" save would like to disagree.

Thanks Matt. I think the key here is to focus on the number of physical (or virtual...ymmv) CORES. Not threads. I was equating CPU threads with OOTP Helper threads and that was wrong. With 16 cores I can select anywhere from 16 to 32 Helper threads and determine what I think is working best for my system.
I know...overkill.

Generally speaking, selecting the number of helper threads to be the number of virtual cores on the machine should give the best performance for the vast majority of people. But it will vary a little too - if you tend to have a lot of other stuff running at the same time, it might be good to cut it down a little. Also sometimes having too many you can end up in cases where they step on each other too much.

great point regarding what else the machine is being asked to do simultaneously. Thanks for chiming in Matt!
