What is "Local Talent" for Feeder League teams?
In the league settings for a Feeder League, you can set Random Player Origin. The note under this says "The percent listed above will control what fraction of players should be generated using the draft pool origin settings of the parent league. Other players for each team will be filled with local talent."
Fair enough. It appears that "local talent" will look to a team's Nation if that is set. But it behaves really oddly when a team has a Region. It seems like it might work if the region consists of a single (?) state, but otherwise it goes off the rails. Here is my example. I have made each state a separate nation, but the Canadian Provinces are states of the nation of Canada. 1. My High School Feeder team that has a nation of Michigan basically only has Michigan Players. Good 2. My High School Feeder team that has a Region consisting only of the Province of Ontario only has Canadian players that are from Ontario. Good. 3. My High School Feeder team that has a Region consisting of Massachusetts and Connecticut has players from all over the world. ??? 4. My High School Feeder team that consists of the Maritime Provinces of Canada and Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont & Rhode Island has players from all over the world. ??? I haven't tested a situation where the Region is multiple states without any Nations. It's possible that works as expected Anyway, I'm not sure if this a bug or it is working as designed in some fashion I don't understand. |
