AI changing my SP when I am GM/Manager

I have been playing this game for years and never had this happen. I'm playing 24. I am currently in spring training. The last few games, when I start the game, the starter that I have scheduled to start has been replaced by another pitcher. I've never seen this before.

I play one pitch mode. The pitchers I have scheduled to start have no injuries and are rested. Also the last game I played, the pitcher that I had slotted to play who did not pitch at all, showed that he had pitched and had thrown the exact number of pitches and innings as the player who actually started. Anyone else seen this?

Spring training is weird, but this last part definitely seems like a bug.

So, are you saying that [1] you set the starting lineup, then start the game, and your SP has been replaced by another guy? Or are you saying [2] the AI changes your pre-set lineup, or at least your rotation, before the game starts?

I ask this way because I have seen [2] happen, which is aggravating, with a team you control, and lineups and rotation you set up. But in this instance, you can change the lineup and pitcher on the game screen before the game starts. But if it’s [1] above, that sounds like a problem - one you can’t reverse, until the wrong SP has thrown a pitch.

Spring Training has come a long way. The AI now knows how to bring along pitchers gradually, give lots of young guys playing time, rest veterans, even let guys try new positions. The AI probably “wants” to give lots of guys a chance. But you should have the final say as manager.

Go to the Manager's Office and just double check the assignments for who is in charge of what. Also check that the "Do Not Disturb" box is NOT checked. It's that Do Not Disturb box that trips up a lot of folks when the AI is doing things that the user things he ought to control as per the delegations/roles.

I set my starting rotation and start the game and a different pitcher is starting. The unusual part is after the game is over it shows that the SP that I originally had as my starter had pitched in the game and he had not. Also he had the same stats from the game as the pitcher who did start the game.

This happened twice out of four games I played. I just deleted the save and I am in the process of drafting another expansion team. I have checked all the settings and they are fine. We will see if it continues. Been playing this game for years. Never seen this before.
