Random historical debut league USSBC has two openings
The Unexpected Super Stars Baseball Conference (USSBC) is entering its 10th season and is looking for General Managers for the South Jersey Pine Sox and the Lubbock Matadors. Upon joining the league, you may rebrand and/or relocate your team. USSBC is a random historical debut league. We are currently in November of 2029.
South Jersey finished 77-85 this past season. Some very good pieces to kick off a serious rebuilding job - bullpen monster Charlie Guth and a couple of excellent bats in Ivan Calderon, Walton Cruise, and Fred Snodgrass. Lubbock finished 65-97. The team is probably not too far from being competitive with a good GM, or you could do a hard tank. The team has prime Ken Griffey Jr., Mike Andrews, Ripper Collins, John Milner, Deacon McGuire, Jose de Leon, and Al Spalding, with prospects Bill Terry, Roy Evans, Mark Wohlers, Vin Campbell, Matt Kemp, and Jason Kipnis waiting in the wings, ready to contribute soon.
We use a unique draft lottery in the first round of the rookie draft. First, teams that missed the playoffs in the prior season submit their draft picks. If multiple teams pick the same player, the player is assigned to a team by lottery. This process iterates until the picks of all teams that missed the playoffs have been made; then the picks of teams that made the playoffs are made in the same manner. Rounds after the first are held as a straight draft.
This league uses OOTP 24. Scouting is turned off. OVR and POT are turned on. Ratings scale is 20-80. Ratings over 80 is turned on. Draft pick trading is turned on. Sims are Monday-Friday during the regular season; we sim daily in the offseason. Regular season sims cover 7 days. We use Slack to communicate. We are always tinkering, so the league loves a GM excited to contribute and shape the league.
