No Playoffs Scheduled... Really Need Help

The AI did not schedule the postseason playoffs.
Should the "Play" (Finish Today Screen) show "Playoffs Begins"?

The League Events show the playoff are to begin, but the games are not on the schedule.

I checked "Custom Playoffs" in the Game Settings.

Really need your help... I have been playing the Islandian Pro Alliance for over 20 years (real time) and don't want to mess it up and lose it.

Would really appreciate your help.

Can this be fixed?

Can I rework the "League Events"?

Can I manually schedule the playoffs?

I reset the "Custom Playoffs" and it scheduled the playoffs, but it did not do home and away... I can manually fix this.

I do not see the Playoff Tree that is normally shown in the main league screen at the top of the page.

Should I advance to the first day of the playoffs? Will this activate everything and resych everything?

The Current League day is October 7... the first day of the playoffs is October 8.

This might be important.

A playoff game from Last Year to decide the division champion was left in this year's schedule.... I deleted it from this year's schedule.

Could this have caused the problem?

a selfish bump... hope someone will help me solve this playoff problem.

If no one response in 3 days, I will just play on the playoffs and hope the game resets itself and finish the playoffs and advances to the new season with all of the current-year playoff history... I hate to see my history fouled up.

I don't want to risk the league so am nervous to reply... but couldn't you back-up the league? Not a "save" but a full backup (File>Backup) that can be restored? Or also save it as a Quickstart as a double back-up? And then copy the .dat files and put them to the side just in case? Then advance and see?

I'm not sure, but it sounds like a trial-and-error type of investigation in order to fix it. IOW, make a couple backups of your game. Then start trying some of the things you mentioned, and if it works, great! If not, you can revert to a backup and try something else. Just make sure you always have a backup of the backup...

From a backup copy, I would try what you mentioned: advance to the first day of the playoffs. And then see what things look like, and what your options are. Note that at this stage, you are still able to revert to "regular season mode" if needed.

So that's where I'd start...

Be sure to post back here with either your solution, or what you've tried so far but hasn't worked... Good luck bud!!!

Just out of curiosity, how was it that a playoff game from last year was left in the current year’s schedule? That seems odd. When did this become apparent? That to me is a probable source of the glitch. I can imagine that the game engine won’t let one set of playoffs begin until the previous set has ended.

In my experience each year when I begin a season, I check the schedule to see if any playoff games from the previous season are still on the schedule... the game doesn't seem to delete the playoff games from the previous year.

I forgot to check the schedule this season.

I'll give your suggestions a try.

Never fear, I would not blame any of you if your advice causes problems... ultimately, it is me that would get the blame... not you.

I always back up the league... I use the game backup and "copy all files".

Is this sufficient?

Or do I need to back the league up on an external hard drive, too,.

If I use my backup, wouldn't it have the corruption that is causing the problem, too?

It seem to me I would have to go back to a prior date where the problem did not exist.

I am computer-challenged... have no idea of how the backups work in OOTP.

I can locate that.

I found the league in the saved games... followed the instructions... copied all the .dat files in the league folder... then uploaded them, but I did not see the league name listed... clicked on support ticket and nothing happened.

Sorry, I'm a computer dunce... not good at navigating.

Must have done something wrong.

I'll try it again, but I got a message the site was not available.
