Why Do No Historical Imports Have Birth City?

I noticed this originally in my Random Debut league and again with the imports I put in my EBL vs MLB league. Not single import has their correct city they are from and many just have unknown. I realize that small towns are not in the database but large cities like Caracas, Havana, Easton, MD, Columbus, GA are all in the database. Frank Thomas is from Columbus, GA and it had him from some other town in NJ.Never noticed this prior to 24.

I noticed this as well. I figured it was due to moving the historical to a new database. I go into commissioner mode and edit the birth city for players on my team and any other obvious ones on other teams that bug me using data from Baseball-Reference. For the small towns not in the database, I use Google Maps to pick a city that is geographically close to their actual birth city.

Yes, it was the merger. It was stated somewhere earlier in the release cycle, I think. Will take time I reckon to address so many players.

Is that also why many NLB players no longer import properly with the BB ref ID? i had to play 1920-1950 so i could have a quick reference guide for NLB imports like Cool papa Bell.

NeL players always used the Minor League IDs but I believe OOTP is moving from the IDs that were invented by Spritz long ago (typically ending in 99 or 49) to the real bRef minor league codes.
