Looking for data on player fatigue
When a batter is tired but plays anyway, in theory he is more injury-prone and his performance will suffer. Does anyone have any data that would support, or just as important disprove, that theory?

My experience is all subjective, but I have a definite learned internal bias towards playing it safe with regards to tiredness, injuries and rehab after playing for all these years.
Rushing a player inevitably ends up coming back to haunt me in OOTP. Really not worth it in my estimation.

How do you think we can get data to support such a theory?

Quite easy, genius.
Create a schedule with no off days. Control a team, use 7-day lineups so there's no chance for an AI sub. After a couple weeks every hitter will be exhausted. I did this last night and it's undeniable that player performance suffers greatly when they are exhausted

Proof players don't perform well when exhausted isn't really useful. What is useful is knowing about performance and injuries when they are a little bit tired. Knowing when to give a player a day off is what matters.
The effects are likely to be slight to the point randomness has more effect. I doubt the effects are discernable in any attainable sample size. |

I unintentionally created an extreme fatigue situation in a sim by toggling off any changes to the Daily Lineups I set. I played through most of a season, before I figured out my mistake.
Performance degraded tremendously, once players were “exhausted”. However, with a few days rest, they were good as new. I did not - surprisingly - see any increase in injuries to the exhausted players, even though they were out there, day after day. My guess is that “exhaustion” effectively reduces ratings to very low levels, but does not affect the distinct numbers for injury.

No one has time to document manually every game to prove it. Devs do not appear to want to enable any new detailed tracking to enhance the game |

Just curious, does baseball reference have detailed tracking of how a player plays tired, slightly tired, a little short of breath? Say a player got in a argument with his wife just prior to leaving for a game, does baseball reference track how this effects a players performance? What if a player went to a pool party the day of a night game?
