1899 season
I tried firing up the 1899 season to play as the Cleveland Spiders.
However, in OOTP that season has 16 teams, where as the real season had only 12 teams. Also when I start that season, nobody is on a team. Am I doing something wrong ? dave |

All 4 seem to be from the American Association which ended play in 1891. The Brewers, Reds and Solons lineage ended there. The Browns went to the NL and turned into the Perfectos in 1899. Also the 1899 season was played with a 12 team league no divisions, and the game puts it into 2, 8 team divisions. |

All seasons prior to 1901 are not historically accurate. If you loaded up a game in 1871 it would have two sub leagues which is not accurate. You did nothing wrong. If you wanted to have the game do things accurately you would have to start as a fictional league and manually make the changes yourself. It is entirely possible as I have done it a number of times.

In either case, you'd need to manually move players to their historically correct teams (if that is something you want). |
